could               easily               lead               the               entire               MLB               in               stolen               bases               over               the               next               decade.

Posting               an               incredible               303               stolen               bases               over               568               games               in               his               minor               league               career,               Young               Jr.

has               all               the               tools               needed               to               be               a               quality               leadoff               hitter               at               the               major               league               level.

With               the               2B               spot               in               Colorado               currently               manned               by               utility               player               Clint               Barmes,               a               strong               spring               training               could               allow               Young               Jr.

to               claim               the               starting               2B               job               to               begin               the               2010               season.

But               even               if               Young               Jr.

does               not               claim               the               starting               job               to               begin               the               season,               he               is               still               the               Rockies               2B               of               the               future,               and               at               age               25               and               with               plenty               of               minor               league               experience               already               under               his               belt,               Young               Jr.

should               see               his               fair               share               of               major               league               playing               time               during               the               2010               season.

               Cruising               through               the               minors               during               the               2009               season,               Chacin               is               on               the               fast               track               to               becoming               a               reliable               starting               pitcher               on               the               Rockies               staff               at               some               point               during               the               2010               season.

Displaying               the               ability               to               be               an               excellent               groundball               pitcher,               Chacin               is               exactly               the               type               of               pitcher               that               can               be               successful               while               pitching               at               Coors               Field.

Offering               durability               on               the               mound               as               well               as               solid               strikeout               capability,               Chacin               should               see               major               league               playing               time               with               the               Rockies               during               the               2010               season.
               #3               -               Christian               Friedrich               -               SP               -               Age:               22               
               Former               1st               round               pick               in               the               2008               draft,               Friedrich               is               a               polished               college               starting               pitcher               who               has               the               potential               to               make               the               leap               from               playing               at               Single               A               during               the               2009               season,               to               making               his               Major               League               Debut               during               the               2010               season.

Offering               four               solid               pitches               including               an               excellent               curveball,               Friedrich               could               become               the               Rockies               #2               starting               pitcher               behind               Ubaldo               Jimenez               when               the               2011               season               rolls               around.

Until               then,               Friedrich               will               need               to               have               a               good               start               in               the               minors               to               begin               the               2010               season               and               an               injury               or               ineffectiveness               by               one               of               the               current               Rockies               starters               to               see               any               playing               time               at               the               major               league               level               in               2010.
               #4               -               Esmil               Rogers               -               SP               -               Age:               24               
               A               hard               throwing               former               shortstop,               Rogers               at               age               24               should               contend               with               Jhoulys               Chacin               as               the               top               starting               pitching               prospect               to               receive               a               call               up               during               the               2010               season,               assuming               neither               make               the               opening               day               roster.

On               a               side               note,               Rogers               who               has               a               fastball               in               the               mid               90s               and               a               sharp               curve               in               the               low               80s,               could               potentially               make               a               switch               to               relief               pitcher.

But               until               then,               expect               the               Rockies               to               continue               to               give               him               experience               as               a               starter               to               see               just               how               good               he               can               be.
               #5               -               Rex               Brothers               -               RP               -               Age:               22               
               Finding               an               excellent               lefty               relief               pitcher               can               be               like               finding               24               carrot               gold               for               major               league               baseball               teams,               but               a               left               closer...that's               a               different               situation.

For               Rex               Brothers,               he               has               the               potential               to               be               one               of               those               rare               lefty               closers.

With               an               exceptional               fastball               that               can               hit               97               mph,               and               a               late               breaking               slider               in               his               repertoire,               Brothers               could               potentially               become               the               next               Billy               Wagner               of               this               decade.

With               only               one               year               of               minor               league               experience               under               his               belt               at               Single               A               during               the               2009               season,               Brothers               should               see               plenty               of               minor               league               playing               time               to               begin               the               2010               season.

Then               if               all               goes               well,               expecting               a               call               up               after               the               All-Star               break               is               very               possible.

Unless               of               course               Huston               Street               gets               injured               and               the               Rockies               struggle               to               find               a               replacement,               Brothers               could               then               get               an               opportunity               to               save               games               for               the               Rockies               at               some               point               during               the               2010               season.
